Del Mar Foundation is proud sponsor of "Keep Del Mar Clean" contest

By Lynn Gaylord

Calling all students in kindergarten through 12th grade! It's time to stir up those creative juices! We need your help and the deadline is April 2.

It seems the adults around Del Mar just can't figure out what to do about the litter problem on our beaches, sidewalks, and streets. So we are asking for your advice. Do you think you can dream up a catchy slogan? How about draw a logo which will capture the spirit of a clean Del Mar? The search is on and we need you.

The Del Mar Foundation is one of the proud sponsors of the "Keep Del Mar Clean" Logo Contest. The winning entry and artist will be announced on Earth Day, April 22, with honorable mentions for each grade level. There are great prizes including a custom Rusty Surfboard.

For the logo contest, we are asking you to use an 81/2 x 11 inch piece of paper, cardboard, or poster board and design what you think will capture folks' attention. Put your name, age/grade, address, phone, school & teacher and send it to Dr. R. Levak, 240 9th Street, Del Mar, CA. 92014. If you have a name for the litter campaign or slogan to go with it, all the better. Be sure to add that as well. f you just have a name or slogan, be sure to send that. The name/slogan could be considered separately from the logo submission.
