Creative process explored at First Thursdays

Ever wonder how and why artists create what they do? That was the theme of the November edition of First Thursdays featuring local artists and educators Manuelita Brown and Lana Wilson. Sponsored by the Cultural Arts Committee of the Del Mar Foundation Brown and Wilson enthralled the audience at First Thursdays with a program entitled "Bronze and Clay: Two Lives in Art." Brown, a sculpture artist specializing in works of bronze received a M.S. in psychology from UCSD and is chair of the university's Black Alumni Scholarship Fund and Wilson is a ceramic artist and author of "Ceramics: Shapes and Surfaces." Both explored the creative process of their craft and how art touches all our lives.
