Sea World: Offshore Adventures
with John Jourdane

Monday, May 13, 2019 | 6:00 - 8:00 PM

Join us to hear world class navigator John Jourdane talk about his many adventures sailing on all the earth’s oceans. He has logged over 350,000 miles including three circumnavigations and participated in every major offshore yacht race in the world including two Whitbread Round the World Races. First, he graduated from UCLA with a BS in Zoology, USC with a MA in Science Education, spent a brief stint in the Peace Corps. Then John got a job teaching in Hawaii and during the free summer times he took to offshore sailing. That turned into his sailing career. Still sailing, John also teaches “Weather for Sailors” and “Expedition Weather Routing” classes at Orange Coast College Sailing Center in Newport Beach, is the speaker for US Sailing Safety at Sea Seminars (current SAS certified) and has written three books: “Icebergs, Port and Starboard,” and “Sailing With Scoundrels and Kings,” and “Modern Weather for Sailors.”
